Terms of use

Purpose

TRUVIO estimates the probability that a video was generated or manipulated by artificial intelligence. The service returns an estimate, never a certainty, and is neither an expert opinion nor evidence.

What you agree to by using it

You submit videos you have the right to submit. You do not use the service to harass anyone, to defame, or to publicly accuse a person on the strength of a result alone. You do not try to get around the usage limits, or to automate access without written agreement.

What the result is worth

The result is a probability computed by fallible statistical models. It can call an authentic video generated, and let a generated one through. What you do with that information is your responsibility. Our measured limits are published on the method page and you are invited to read them before subscribing.

Accounts

An account is created by signing in with Google. You answer for what is done from your account. We may suspend an account that plainly abuses the service, telling you first where that is possible.

Subscription, payment and cancellation

The subscription is monthly or yearly, paid in advance, renewed automatically, and cancellable at any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for. Check packs are bought individually and do not expire.

Right of withdrawal

The service is digital content supplied immediately. By running your first paid check you request that immediate performance and waive the fourteen-day withdrawal period, under article L221-28 of the French consumer code. Until a paid check has been run, that period applies and the refund is in full.

Availability

The service is provided as it is. It depends on third-party providers whose quotas and outages are outside our control. A prolonged interruption entitles you to a pro-rata refund of the period concerned.

Liability

Our liability is limited to what you have paid us over the last twelve months. No limitation applies in case of gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or to personal injury.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. In a dispute, an amicable solution is sought first. Failing that, the French courts have jurisdiction. A consumer may use a consumer mediator free of charge, and the European online dispute resolution platform.
