This text describes what the code actually does. When the code changes, this text changes with it.
The videos
What happens depends on how you submit the video, and the difference is real. If you upload a file from your device, the video does not leave that device: the browser pulls out a few low-resolution frames and only those are sent. If you paste a link, our server downloads that public video itself and passes it to the detector. In both cases nothing survives the analysis, neither the video nor the frames.
What is kept
The result of a link analysis is held for a limited time against the public video's address, so that a viral clip is not analysed a thousand times. Analyses of uploaded files never enter that shared memory. If you have an account, we keep your email address, the state of your subscription, and the date of each of your checks so the allowance can be counted. Signing in by email gives us the address alone; signing in with Google also passes us your name and your picture.
Visitors without an account
The free check is limited per device. To count it, we place a random identifier in a cookie and record a one-way fingerprint of your IP address. The address itself is never written to our database: it is put through a function that does not run backwards, and the fingerprint exists only to stop a script taking a thousand free checks.

Your rights
You may ask for access to your data, its correction, its erasure, its portability, and you may object to its processing. Deleting your account erases your profile, your allowance history and your link to the payment provider, apart from the invoices accounting law requires us to keep for ten years. Write to us and we answer within thirty days. You may also complain to the CNIL, the French data protection authority.
Legal basis
Running the service rests on the contract between us while you use it. Abuse limitation and security rest on our legitimate interest. Audience measurement and anything not strictly necessary rest on your consent, which you give or refuse in the banner and can withdraw at any time from the cookies page.
